Pre-Employment

How it works for your recruiter

The workflow is three steps and none of them involve paper.

  • Enter the candidate's name and email in the portal or send it to us
  • The candidate receives the authorization and picks a nearby site
  • The result posts to your account, MRO-reviewed where required

Choosing the right panel

The right panel depends on the role and the risk. We will recommend one rather than sell you the largest.

  • 5-panel: standard screening for most office and general labor roles
  • 10-panel: broader coverage for safety-sensitive and licensed positions
  • Hair follicle: roughly a 90-day detection window for high-risk hires
  • DOT panel: required for CDL and other DOT-regulated positions
  • Alcohol: breath or lab-based testing where policy requires it

Staying compliant while you hire

Pre-employment testing sits inside a web of federal and state rules: consent, marijuana laws that vary by state, DOT requirements, and record retention. Your account is configured for the states you hire in, and every consent form, chain-of-custody record, and result is retained and retrievable.

Pair it with the rest of your program

Most employers who start with pre-employment testing add random testing, post-accident testing, and reasonable-suspicion testing on the same account. One vendor, one invoice, one place to look when someone asks for the file.

Questions

Frequently asked

How long does a pre-employment drug test take?
A negative rapid eCup result is commonly available in minutes and posts electronically the same day. Results that need laboratory confirmation and Medical Review Officer review typically take 24 to 72 hours.
Where does the candidate go to test?
Any of close to 20,000 collection sites nationwide. The candidate receives an electronic authorization by email and chooses the site nearest to them, usually without an appointment.
What panel should I use for pre-employment screening?
Most non-regulated employers use a 5-panel or 10-panel urine screen. Safety-sensitive roles often add alcohol testing or hair follicle testing for a longer detection window. DOT-regulated positions must use the DOT panel under 49 CFR Part 40.
Do I need consent from the candidate?
Yes. Consent is collected electronically as part of the order, and the signed authorization is stored with the test record.
Can we test candidates in multiple states?
Yes. One account covers the whole country, and state-specific requirements are applied to the order rather than left to you to track.
